Here at Hopkins Acura, we do our best to answer any questions that drivers have about our vehicles. Some want to know more about engines, how they differ, and the pros and cons of each. Fortunately, we’re ready to tell you the difference between an inline-four and a V6 engine, and we’ll help you figure out which best suits your driving needs.

A few of our vehicles offer an inline-four engine. This engine contains four cylinders, as you may have guessed, and are more common in smaller cars. They’re compact and fuel-efficient while offering an impressive power to weight ratio. The 2019 Acura ILX and 2019 Acura TLX both come equipped with this type of engine. We also offer a turbocharged inline-four engine, found in the 2019 Acura RDX crossover. A turbocharged engine offers a bit more power, and it’s a more eco-friendly way to boost output compared to a supercharged engine.

The 2019 Acura TLX also offers another engine option though. You can outfit this stylish sedan with a more potent 3.5-liter V6 engine as well. These types of engines are often found in premium cars or vehicles that need to do tough towing work. The cylinders are laid out in a ā€œvā€ shape, reducing engine weight and length while allowing more power to be added.

The 2018 Acura RLX and the 2019 Acura MDX also come equipped with a V6 engine. You’ll notice that these luxury models offer more power and you’ll certainly see a difference if you’re behind the wheel. All of our Acura vehicles run on gasoline, regardless of engine type, but the 2019 Acura MDX is also available as a hybrid that uses electric motors as well.

So visit our Acura dealership serving Palo Alto and find the perfect engine and vehicle today. Once you get behind the wheel of one of our Acura models, we’re sure that you’ll want to drive it right home!
